Lympstone Manor unveils five new luxury shepherd huts
Following a remarkable summer, Lympstone Manor has welcomed five indulgent Shepherd Huts – complete with outdoor ‘Hikki’ hot tubs, rolltop baths and walk-in showers, as well as a new tennis court. More recently Michael and the team have celebrated the excitement of Lympstone’s first vineyard harvest and planning consent to build a pool and accompanying pool house in 2021.
Aptly named after the hotel’s wildlife residents – Hare’s Rest, Otter Holt, Beehive, Hedgehog Row and Fox Den – the five Shepherd Huts start from £409 per night based on double occupancy and inclusive of breakfast. Nestled amongst the trees at the foot of the vineyard, they form the perfect isolation stay.
Sunrise is best enjoyed from Hare’s Rest and Otter Holt, both positioned around a newly formed pond at the southernmost point of land at Lympstone, with views sweeping across the vines looking up at the house and with decked terraces extending over the pond. Sunsets are best enjoyed from the three huts; Foxden, Beehive and Hedgehog row with views both across the Estuary and the vineyard.
Each hut has a private decking area with outside seating to enable you to immerse yourselves in the beauty of this tranquil spot. Otter Holt, Hare’s Rest and Hedgehog Row have outdoor bathtubs, while Beehive and Fox Den both have free-standing bathtubs indoors and wood-fired ‘Hikki’ hot tubs
outside.
Crafted by Blackdown Shepherd Huts and complemented by Rachel Toll’s hand-painted artwork, each cabin comprises of two braces and houses a kitchenette and lounge area. Each hut has a king-size bed with additional sleeping areas that have been engineered to disappear into the fabric of the hut so that each cabin will sleep between 4-5 guests, both adults and children. Breakfast hampers will be delivered each morning which include all the continental delights with cooked breakfast available in the main restaurant. As the huts are simply an extension of the hotel, guests are welcome to reserve lunch or dinner in the restaurant or dine in the comfort of the bar and lounge for a light lunch or supper.
New in-room amenities made by in partnership with Natural Spa Factory including handwash and hair products have also been produced to eliminate single-use plastic in all of the rooms and the Shepherd Huts. The new tennis court will provide guests with an additional on-site activity, complemented by neighbouring paddle-boarding, wake-boarding, kite-surfing and jet-skiing on the Exe Estuary, all of which can be organised by the hotel. Expansive cycling and walking routes departing from Lympstone along the Jurassic Coast also allow couples and families alike to soak up their surrounds.
The Michael Caines Collection recently also announced the impending launch of nearby Mickeys Beach Bar and Restaurant on the Exmouth Sideshore. Set to launch in March 2021, the new venture from Michael will serve relaxed seaside fare in a vibrant environment. The perfect place to unwind ‘aprèsbeach’ whilst ‘staycationing’ at Lympstone Manor.
