Rooftop bar and garden to spring up at Belfast’s Bullitt as part of wider £1.75m expansion
As part of a £1.75m expansion, the Bullitt Hotel in Belfast will be opening a new rooftop bar and garden.
Called Babel, the bar and garden will open on October 20 on the hotel’s first anniversary and have capacity for 250 people.
Design-wise, Babel will include an open-air terrace and feature an interior living wall made up of 300 fresh plants and herbs, as well as a vertical exterior wall. The herbs from the interior wall will be used as ingredients and garnishes for the bar’s ‘shrub cocktails.’
30 new jobs will be created as a result of the expansion, bringing the total staff numbers at the hotel to 130.
As well as the new rooftop bar, the Bullitt hotel will also be adding 31 new bedrooms to its offering, including its first twin rooms.
This will also see 31 new bedrooms being added this year including the hotel’s first twin rooms.
Conall Wolsey, director of Bullitt’s parent company, Beannchor, said: “Bullitt Hotel has been hugely popular since it opened last October. The vision behind the hotel is for it to offer much more than a bed space; we want it to be a place where people come to work, come to relax and come to socialise.
“The addition of the new rooftop bar and garden will only add to this vision and the stunning views across Belfast were the selling point for us when deciding how to utilise this space.”
Wolsey added: “We continuously want to push the boundaries and the living walls, which provide a fresh supply of herbs that will be used as ingredients and garnishes for our drinks, will enable us it introduce a new cocktail-led concept into Belfast for the first time.”
