Sartoria’s Libare Bar to host Kris Du of Shanghai’s Speak Low for one night only

On Friday 4 October, Savile Row’s Sartoria’s Libare Bar, will play host to two of the world’s best bartenders: Kris Du of Shanghai’s Speak Low Bar, and Dario Schiavoni of Beijing’s Bvalgari Hotel.
Speak Low’s Kris Du, is a true trailblazer of the industry; having started his bartending career aged 18, arriving at Speak Low in 2015. During his time at Speak Low he has seen the heralded speak-easy take current seventh position in Asia’s 50 Best Bar Awards 2019, and ranked top 20 at the World’s 50 Best Bars Award 2018.
Kris describes his style as drinks that harness the creativity of modern American drink-making, combining it with the more tender and delicate practices he has drawn on from Japanese and Chinese bartending.

Kris Du
On the night, Kris and Dario will be working side-by-side behind the timeless Mayfair bar, rolling out cocktails inspired by flavours of Italy and China. Kris will bring Shanghai’s Swing Low favourites to London for the first time: Into the Woods – an umami-fied old fashioned (Walnut fat washed whisky, Reishi mushroom maple, chocolate and Angostura bitters); Natural Unnatural Wine – a cocktail inspired by the crisp refresh of white wine (Bombay Sapphire, passion fruit, apple vinegar) and Tomato Sap – a refreshing and woody savoury sip (Dill gin, Masthiha, St Germain, tomato water and lemon juice).

Dario Schiavoni
Dario’s three carefully fused Italian and Chinese-inspired drinks include Shanghai Glamour (Matusalem rum, Campari, ruby port, house-made grenadine topped with Champagne) a Mustaccioni (Tequila Reposado, rosso vermouth, ruby port and Campari) as well as the Beijing (Fernet Branca, Amaro Montenegro foam, Sichuan pepper, house-made orange soda and lemon syrup).
