SBID and BITA partnerships for new look January Furniture Show
The four-day furniture and furnishing bonanza – the January Furniture Show returns to the NEC in Birmingham from 21st to 24th January 2018. With a new hall identity, a new website, new show partnerships and 500 exhibitors. The show will again be a destination event for the whole of the UK furniture industry.
Halls 1 and 2 are the halls for Premium Design, and will feature high-end and contemporary UK and International brands. Favourites including Duresta, Baker, Tetrad, Parker Knoll, Italia Living, Ekornes and Skovby all return. The Flooring Showcase will also be housed here and will be joined by the Fabrics and Soft Furnishings Pavilion.
Hall 2 will also be the focus for interior designers as the show partners with two prestigious interior design associations – SBID (Society of British Interior Design) and a first-time show partnership with leading textile association, BITA (British Interiors & Textile Association).
The partnerships will strengthen the links between the show and the interior design sector and make it more inclusive to the whole of the UK furniture industry. Contract buyers from the interior design and hospitality sectors increasingly use the show to source everything from wall art to mattresses and statement upholstery.
SBID members will be able to enjoy a hosted coffee lounge in Hall 2 and SBID President Diana Celella, will again be part of the judging team for the product focused Furniture Awards; which are judged on the opening day of the event.
BITA will have its own stand and the partnership aims to raise the profile of fabrics and soft furnishings at the event. The pavilion will move to a new location in Hall 2 to give more space to companies who wish to exhibit.
Hall 3 is for Decorative Accessories and will be awash with lighting, art, mirrors, ornamental items and kitchenware. Some of the biggest names in interior furnishings including Libra, Pacific Lifestyle and Gallery Direct are exhibiting here.
Hall 4 is the Living & Dining hall and will be the place to find mainstream cabinet furniture. Big name exhibitors include the German bedroom system giants Weimann, Rauch and Nolte. Joining them will be UK experts in producing a great variety of affordable collections, including VIDA Living, Heartlands and Value Mark.
Hall 5 will be home to upholstery, beds and mattresses, with many of the companies exhibiting have special contract furniture collections. Known as Living & Beds, this hall sees the return of upholstery companies Buoyant and Lebus and bed companies Furmanac and Breasley.
