Ashby-De-La-Zouch Restaurant up for Sale for First Time in 40 Years in Bond Wolfe’s July Auction
Fans of MasterChef looking to start their own business could have walked straight through the doors of La Zouch, a Grade II listed town centre restaurant in the centre of Ashby-de-la-Zouch.
The vacant freehold property at 2 Kilwardby Street was offered for sale in Bond Wolfe’s auction on Thursday 9 July.
The attractive property was equipped and set up for restaurant/café bar use but could have been suitable for a wide variety of alternative uses, according to Ian Tudor, commercial auction director at Bond Wolfe.
It also had an apartment across the building’s two upper floors, consisting of a lounge/kitchen/diner, rear dining room, meeting room and utility room on the first floor, and three double and one single bedrooms on the second floor.
To the rear was a walled garden which complemented the ground floor restaurant area, where the dining area measured 847 sq ft, leading to a commercial kitchen and utility room.
It was listed in the auction with a guide price* of £250,000+.

The town is primarily famous for its striking ruined castle—a key stronghold in the English Civil War and the setting for Sir Walter Scott’s classic novel “Ivanhoe”, as well as its 19th-century spa heritage.
La Zouch was among 173 lots featured in Bond Wolfe’s auction, which started at 8.30am on Thursday 9 July. The auction was livestreamed via Bond Wolfe’s website with remote bidding by proxy, telephone or internet.
