Genting relaunch Mayfair’s palm beach casino with new restaurant

The Palm Beach Casino on Mayfair’s Berkeley Street has undergone a major renovation, with an investment of over £2m. Genting Casinos, one of the largest operators with over 42 casinos across the UK, has refurbished its London venue to include a new gaming floor, restaurant and bar & grill.

With interiors by Fisch Design, the 10,000 sq ft venue features subtle illuminated fretwork and gold, black and brass finishes, complemented by a warm colour palette of chocolate and greys to create an elegant yet inviting space.

The new 50-cover restaurant is a grand room with high ceilings and is overseen by award-winning head chef Mahmud Zaman, formerly of Zaman’s at The Sportsman Casino. Ruby leather booths and magnolia velvet chairs are surrounded by backlit mirrored arches and artwork inspired by Chinese symbolism. The menu reflects Zaman’s expertise and passion for South Asian and global cuisine with dishes that span continents in order to appeal to Palm Beach’s international clientele. The Bar & Grill, overlooking the Casino floor and all the action, is also overseen by Zaman and provides a more casual offering, as well as coverage of all major sporting events.

The Lounge Bar, renovated last year, has a travel-inspired theme with aged map murals on the ceiling, and comfortable deep red velvet stool seating complemented by brown leather Chesterfield sofas. The bar is headed up by a talented mixology team featuring signature and classic serves, spirits and wines, alongside a range of bar food from across the globe.

As well as offering 24 hour dining, Palm Beach will host a series of events throughout the year, open to gamers and diners alike.  Calendar dates such as Diwali, NYE, Chinese New Year and Valentine’s will be celebrated along with weekly Arabian Nights and regular shisha, mezze, DJs, dancers and ‘learn to play’ sessions for beginners.

Phil Nunn, Casino Director of The Palm Beach comments: “The Palm Beach is one of London’s most iconic casinos and, as well as the capital’s finest gaming facilities, we are delighted to now have a destination restaurant. Whilst the new restaurant provides our regular high stakes clientele with a much-enhanced offer, we want to attract late night diners as well as Londoners looking for a more experiential experience, whether it be light flutter and supper or just the chance to watch the gaming tables in action. We already attract affluent international visitors on a daily basis and, with this vastly improved offering, we’re confident we’ll be welcoming many new faces through our doors in the near future.”
