All about that cake: Homage Restaurant launches its Royal Afternoon Tea

Homage restaurant at The Waldorf Hilton has successfully launched its latest Afternoon Tea Experience: The Royal Afternoon Tea, in time to celebrate HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

Featuring an assortment of finger sandwiches and delectable cakes, each item has been carefully curated using ingredients from the UK, taking inspiration from some of HM The Queen’s favourite dishes.
Highlights of the menu include a glazed mint chocolate mousse, based on one of HM The Queen’s favourite desserts ‘Bombe Glacée Royale’, made with mint ice cream, chocolate and bitter mint. Another is a royal purple blackberry and peach choux; two fruits that are known to be HM The Queen’s favourites.

The menu has been expertly paired with Louis Pommery Brut England – the first UK wine to be created by a Champagne house. Made in the rolling hills of Hampshire, aromas of lime and apple come together with a mix of blackcurrant and white fruit, topped with a hint of honey. Guests can enjoy this as an upgrade to the standard Royal Afternoon Tea menu. Alongside a menu fit for HM The Queen, those who attend The Royal Afternoon Tea will experience an array of crowns and royal decorations in an intimate regal setting. Dynamic elements such as dry ice will also serve as entertainment as they enjoy their treats.

Karl Richardson, Director of Food & Beverage at The Waldorf Hilton comments:

“Putting together this afternoon tea to celebrate HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee has been a wonderful opportunity to showcase the best of British ingredients. Put together with skill, handcraft and nods to Her Majesty’s varied tastes. All of this paired with some of the most luxurious English sparkling wines. I believe that the food and beverage team have put together a memorable afternoon tea experience to truly celebrate this fantastic occasion. We hope you join us.”

Please note: unfortunately pets are unable to attend The Royal Afternoon Tea.
