From 4 August to 4 October, the Barocco Festival Leonardo Leo brings music, culture and history to some of Puglia’s most evocative settings. Concerts and performances take place in castles, cloisters, churches and historic palaces across Brindisi, San Vito dei Normanni, Mesagne and Lecce, offering a journey into baroque music and local heritage.
Chestnut Festival, Cisternino – Mid-October
Cisternino, one of the prettiest towns in the Valle d’Itria and just 20 minutes from Ostuni, takes on a particularly atmospheric charm in October. The scent of wood smoke and roasting chestnuts fills the streets, while local wine and traditional dishes bring the town to life. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience a more authentic side of Puglia, away from the summer crowds and among the local community.
The Olive Harvest – October and November
Autumn marks the start of Puglia’s olive harvest, when the region’s ancient groves come alive. It’s also the season for olio nuovo, the fresh, vibrant oil produced from the first pressing. Guests at Canne Bianche can discover this tradition through guided olive oil tastings at Autentico Wine & Restaurant, learning about the region’s oils, their production and distinctive flavours.
