Centre: MK fires up the wok with Neds Noodle Bar signing
centre:mk has announced that award-winning Asian restaurant, Neds Noodle Bar, has selected centre:mk to launch its latest location, continuing its global growth strategy to become the world’s favourite noodle quick service restaurant concept.
Located at 21 Eagle Walk, Neds Noodle Bar’s 1,450 sq ft restaurant will showcase the brand’s established concept of the very best authentic tastes of Asia, consciously providing healthier Eastern staples with no MSG or GM products. Creating an inviting atmosphere, the brand-new centre:mk site will feature the Neds Noodle Bar’s signature open-plan kitchen and unpretentious welcoming environment, offering dine-in, take-out and delivery services when it launches later this month.
Founded by James Breslaw and Roberto Marroni whilst travelling through Melbourne Australia in the late 90’s, Neds Noodle Bar has grown from its humble beginnings to launching its flagship store at The London Eye and more recently being nominated for the ‘best noodles in the UK’ at the Golden Chopsticks Awards in 2019. Serving the freshest Asian noodles and rice dishes in the original iconic American style take-out “pailor” box, Neds Noodle Bar offers a wide range of noodle dishes alongside a variety of starters, fresh Asian salads and steamed buns, along with organic drinks, beers and wines.
Kevin Duffy, centre:mk Centre Director, said:
“Neds Noodle Bar has established a defining difference by taking one of the nation’s favourite foods and creating a unique and healthier offering. The brand’s selection of Eagle Walk for its first location in the catchment, further progressing its global growth strategy, will boost centre:mk’s diverse international mix of food operators and will be a brilliant addition to the destination now we have re-opened non-essential retail and are starting to welcome guests back safely post-lockdown.”
CEO of Neds Noodle Bar, James Breslaw, said:
“Harnessing the growing popularity of Asian flavours, balanced with the demand for healthier alternatives, Neds Noodle Bar sets the benchmark for noodles across the world. As one of the top 10 retail destinations, we are thrilled to have secured a prime location within centre:mk and are excited to welcome new and existing customers to Neds Noodle Bar Milton Keynes safely and securely in line with the shopping centre’s reopening.”
Non-essential retail re-opened successfully at centre:mk on April 12 in line with the government’s second stage of the lockdown easing. Within 24 hours the destination had already significantly exceeded expectations as footfall figures were at 28 percentage points above the national benchmark for UK High Streets, according to Springboard.
The announcement also follows news that Lush and Dune London opened their latest stores at centre:mk last year, alongside Hamleys committing to extend their lease for the pop-up toy shop until the end of 2021. H Beauty is also set to open its doors in Spring 2021.
