Double Michelin star winning Tim Allen takes over The Flitch of Bacon

Daniel Clifford and Tim Allen have announced a partnership at Tim Allen’s Flitch of Bacon, commencing in February 2018.

The Essex based Inn has enlisted the culinary talents of Tim Allen, who will take his place as Chef Partner in the business. The double Michelin star winning chef will bring his signature skillset to Little Dunmow to provide seasonal, British cuisine with a modern edge.

Speaking on his recent appointment, Tim Allen commented:

“The Flitch of Bacon is a special venue and with my wife Magali we very much would like the food, service and hospitality to match. Ultimately we wanted the opportunity to run our own business and are able to do that with Tim Allen’s Flitch of Bacon”

Formally the Executive Chef of The Wild Rabbit in Oxfordshire, Allen propelled the restaurant to a Michelin star in October 2017 as well as three AA rosettes in only two years. Prior to his achievements at the Kingham based establishment, he worked as Chef Patron at Launceston Place from 2012 and guided the restaurant to a prestigious star in just eight months after his arrival and went on to win a further four AA rosettes.

Daniel Clifford, Partner of Tim Allen’s Flitch of Bacon spoke about the exciting new direction of the business:

“Tim worked with me at Midsummer House so having Tim join me once again, this time in his own right as Chef Partner, is a huge deal for The Flitch and one that will see the already high standards of the restaurant improve even more. Due to the intense commitments of running a two Michelin star restaurant in Cambridge, there’s no one I’d trust The Flitch with, more than Tim in his capacity as chef and partner. He is a truly accomplished chef and his experience will aid Tim Allen’s Flitch of Bacon in becoming the best of the best, cementing us as one of the finest restaurants in Essex.”

Tim Allen is due to start his role at Tim Allen’s Flitch of Bacon beginning of February.
