Editor’s Review: Bridgewood Manor Hotel

Bridgewood Manor Hotel is part of the QHotels Group and is situated on the outskirts of Chatham in North Kent. Its location is extremely convenient, being in close proximity to the M20 and M2 motorways allowing easy access to London, Gatwick Airport and Channel crossings at Dover and the Channel Tunnel – all being less than an hour’s drive away.

On arrival, we were welcomed by staff that ensured the check-in was smooth and friendly. The 4-star hotel contains 100 guest rooms including “VIQ” rooms and Suites. Our room included en-suite bathroom, tea and coffee making facilities and free use of the Wi-Fi. It was comfortably furnished and spacious. The hotel also boasts very good conference and meeting rooms available which can also be hired for wedding receptions for up to 200 guests.

The evening meal was in the hotels’ Squires Restaurant, which serves up an a la carte menu. A broad selection of culinary delights are on offer our choices included succulent scallops for starter, flavoursome lamb shank and steak for main course and an array of desserts to end the meal.

Breakfast was also served in the restaurant; again, there is a fine selection to cater for all tastes. There was a wide choice of cereal and fruits, cooked traditional English breakfast and fresh pastries, a decent way to start any day.

Bridgewood Manor has a modern health club, consisting of indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gymnasium. So whether you are looking for a strenuous workout, gentle swim or a touch of relaxation, they have all bases covered. For those looking for a complete break to un-wind, the Spa offers a full range of treatments and massages, which can also be combined as a package with afternoon tea and a glass of bubbly. We made good use of the facilities, both in the evening and the next morning and I had a full body massage, which I can thoroughly recommend.

So, whether you are searching for a relaxing spa afternoon, a conference venue, a filling meal or simply a convenient overnight stop, the Q Hotels’ Bridgewood Manor hotel has all bases covered.
