Event sales expert joins multi-award-winning Aberdeen hotel
One of Scotland’s most experienced event experts has joined the team at a multi-award-winning Aberdeen hotel.
Louise Divarquez has been appointed event sales manager at Sandman Signature Aberdeen Hotel, which opened in August on the site of the former Robert Gordon University St Andrew Street campus.
Along with 218 bedrooms, the hotel has a range of meetings, conference and private dining spaces and recently unveiled its flagship event space, The Robert Gordon Ballroom.
The city centre’s largest hotel wedding and events venue, it can host up to 320 guests or delegates for dinner and is set to become a sought after and stylish destination for everything from gala dinners and award ceremonies to weddings and large-scale conferences.
Louise, who brings more than 20 years of experience of the events industry to her role, will be responsible for driving event sales, building relationships with prospective clients and advising on everything necessary to create tailored and bespoke events.
Originally from Glasgow, her career path has encompassed senior roles within hospitality, events and catering companies across Scotland and worldwide with five-star cruise ships.
She is also a former judge at Young Enterprise Grampian and was named Manager of the Year at the Scottish Hotel Awards.

The Sandman Signature Aberdeen is the Canadian Sandman Hotel Group’s first Scottish venue – it also has hotels at Newcastle and Gatwick – and Group director, Mitch Gaglardi, said Louise will be a valuable addition to the team.
