Grantley Hall submits plans for second phase of hotel development
Grantley Hall in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, has submitted a second planning application to Harrogate Borough Council detailing plans to build a function space on the site.
If approved, the space will sit alongside the Japanese Garden on the property’s 30 acres and will act as a room for weddings, corporate events and parties, as well as an independent restaurant, bar and private lounge.
In 2013, Grantley Hall was put up for sale for £6m. It was bought last year by by Grantley Hall Ltd, a company set up by Valeria Skyes, and in June permission was granted to turn the 17th century stately home into a 52-bedroom hotel and spa.
A spokesperson for Grantley Hall Ltd said: “We’ve worked closely with our appointed suppliers to create considered plans for a venue that we believe will add significantly to the offering of Grantley Hall. The new space will allow us to cater to a wider market and will provide a unique proposition to the luxury hotel market in this part of the UK.
“We’re committed to working with the council and its affiliated parties with this second application and hope to further demonstrate our unwavering commitment to the success of this project.”
