Hypnos Launches Harmony Collaboration with the Eden Project at IHS
The Independent Hotel Show, 15th-16th October, will see Hypnos launch its first contract specification mattress in collaboration with the Eden Project.
Hypnos is exhibiting at this year’s Independent Hotel Show (IHS) launching Harmony, its first contract specification mattress in collaboration with the Eden Project.
The Eden Project is an educational charity and social enterprise with a mission to demonstrate and inspire positive action for the planet. Since 2019, Hypnos has been in a working partnership with the charity to achieve exactly this and make sustainable living a reality.
With the launch of Harmony, Hypnos is now giving independent hoteliers the chance to take action to protect the planet alongside the Eden Project in a high-quality and durable handcrafted mattress made with natural materials.
Using 1200 ReActiveProä pocket springs with unique Hypnos edge protection for hotel specification edge-to-edge support in a deep 29cm height, Harmony is certainly capable of withstanding contract use, but it’s the unique natural filling layers that really set it apart.
With fibres from banana, orange and pineapple, as well as ethically sourced cotton and RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) British wool, the turnable mattress is crafted in Britain to be sustainably and responsibly made. Harmony is BS 7177 and Crib 5 compliant and 100% recyclable at end-of-life through the brand’s own recycling scheme, which even extends to old beds, sofa beds and furniture.
To mark the launch of Harmony in collaboration with the Eden Project, Hypnos is going beyond the hustle and bustle and welcoming visitors to experience a ‘mini oasis’ hotel bedroom on stand 1428. Immersing them in the power of nature to soothe and calm, the room setting also features other great British manufacturers harnessing sustainable materials and biophilic design.
A headboard covered in exquisite Harlequin fabric from the Sanderson Design Group, luxurious carpet from Ulster, mood lighting by Chelsom, wallcoverings from Newmor, and framed art by Indigo Art will all show how British design and craftsmanship elevate hospitality interiors out of the ordinary.
David Baldry, group managing director, Hypnos, says:
“We’ve been handcrafting luxury beds in Britain for 120 years and we’re proud to be making over 100,000 hospitality beds annually, importantly using sustainably and responsibly sourced materials. The launch of Harmony in collaboration with the Eden Project is another mark of our commitment to doing things better, for people and the planet, such as being certified carbon neutral with Planet Mark since 2011 and making sure that we do everything we can to deliver hoteliers sleeping comfort with integrity.”
Alongside showing off its new Harmony mattress, Hypnos is delighted to see some of the General Managers featured in its Hotel Hypnos series on stage in the seminar programme. Royal Lancaster’s Sally Beck will share her insights on recruitment and retention and The Tawny’s Josh Chadwick discusses designing for wellness and escaping the hustle and bustle.
The show’s seminar programme also includes keynotes from other hotels using Hypnos sleep solutions. Taking the stage will be Kai Parfitt, The Atheneum; Eljesa Sacin of Zetter Townhouse Marylebone; Emanuela Da Ros, The Landmark London, and Marc Saunders, Clermont Hotel Group.
Two Hypnos supplied hotels are also nominated in the Independent Hotel of the Year Award, The Grove of Narbeth and Seaham Hall, Durham.
