Monmouth Kitchen revels in relaxed luxury in the heart of Seven Dials
Monmouth Kitchen is a contemporary Peruvian-inspired tapas restaurant and bar with a Mediterranean twist. The restaurant is located inside the Radisson Blu Edwardian in bustling Covent Garden, just minutes from picturesque Neal’s Yard. Brought to us by the Edwardian Hotels group, (who are behind May Fair Kitchen and Bar) this new space fits 106 covers and a luxurious lounge bar.
Monmouth Kitchen offer a casual dining experience, and is open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. The restaurant is led by ex-Nobu head of private dining Amir Jati and boasts a unique combination of modern Peruvian cuisine and classic Mediterranean flavours in an unperturbed setting. Signature dishes include pan-fried salmon with Calabrian chilli salsa, avocado and corn salad with blackberry dressing, smoked lamb cutlets with red anticucho. Also on offer at Monmouth Kitchen are a range of popular Peruvian ceviche dishes like sea bass ceviche with avocado, white corn and red onion and a delicate and tender lobster ceviche.
The dessert menu at Monmouth Kitchen touts the best of Italy’s sweet offering. Expect the likes of chocolate caliente and pera sencacion (white chocolate and vanilla yoghurt mousse, pistachio sponge, honey ice cream and pear compote). A Peruvian restaurant would not be complete without the ubiquitous Pisco, which features among the vast cocktail menu with signature drinks such as the Lima Collins, La Caravedo Pisco Quebranta, jasmine tea, syrup and lemon topped with soda water.
The restaurant space draws influence from the urban neighbourhood surrounding it and features a robata grill, open kitchen and a contemporary design. A large, welcoming lobby and clear glass windows characterise the restaurant for those walking by. There is also a terrace for alfresco eating and drinking.
