NEW TECHNICAL DIRECTOR FOR FOOD ALERT

Leading food safety and health & safety consultancy, Food Alert, has appointed Julia Wilson as Technical Director.

Julia is a vastly experienced Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner having worked in local government, the private sector and for Public Health England and will drive the technical service provision within Food Alert.

Her role will lead on Food Alert’s technical policy and credentials, with a focus on food incident investigations and advice line services, plus the technical advisory positioning of the company.  In addition, Julia will oversee food safety management systems and HACCP documentation on behalf of Central Production Unit (CPU) operations.

Julia has previously trained for the Royal Society of Public Heath on Food Safety and worked extensively with leading environmental health practitioner and expert Dr Lisa Ackerley helping her develop the training section of the Industry Catering Guide to Good Hygiene Practice, the benchmark for compliance with Food Safety regulations.

Julia says of her new role:

“I have always been aware of Food Alert and after meeting with Managing Director David Bashford and Operations Director Mike Williams, I felt there was a real opportunity to make a difference through this position. I was particularly impressed by the

ALERT65 and Auditus safety and auditing compliance software platforms that make a tangible difference to operators in hospitality.

“I will still be hands-on, carrying out food hygiene inspections, risk assessment reviews and maintaining the Food Alert Health & Safety management system, but also look forward to actively engaging in the Advice Line service and ensuring the guidance our consultants provide is even more centred on client KPI targets.”

Mike Williams adds:
