The Allure of the Lunch Menu
For Chef Matt Abé, Chef Patron at London’s newest two Michelin-starred restaurant, Bonheur by Matt Abé, summer is a season tied to memory: ’summer is tomatoes – the anticipation of watching them grow, the smell you associate with the vine – and fresh fruit, strawberries at their peak.’ It is from these ingredients, flavours and memories that Summer of Bonheur was inspired: a new, three-course, seasonal lunch menu celebrating the essence of British summertime.
The menu begins with an Isle of Wight Heirloom Tomato Tart, bringing together vibrant tomatoes, peach and elderflower, finish with a smoked buttermilk and basil sauce. Roast Chicken follows, served with young English peas, charred onions, black garlic, and a roast chicken sauce. To finish, Bonheur’s take on Strawberries and Cream brings together rose, elderflower, lemon verbena, and creamy sour cream ice cream.
The Summer of Bonheur is available lunchtimes Thursday – Saturday at £110 per person for three courses
