‘Then and Now’ Afternoon Tea Menu launches in Meridian Lounge at InterContinental London – The O2
In association with Chase Distillery, InterContinental London – The O2 invites you to experience ‘Then and Now’, the evolution of afternoon tea, a quintessential British pastime in Meridian Lounge.
The elegant selection of tea and pastries is available throughout summer, starting from the1st May and continuing until the 31st August, exclusively in Meridian Lounge. Chase Distillery and Amit Arya, Executive Pastry Chef at InterContinental London – The O2, have joined forces to create a delicious, summer infused delicacy with a hint of nostalgia.
The exquisite selection includes a choice of scones served with strawberry and champagne preserve as well as original Cornish clotted cream. To complement, the sandwich selection includes; crayfish marie rose on whole meal bread, cauliflower and raisin coronation on carrot bread, honey roast ham with grain mustard on poppy seed bread, truffle egg mayonnaise on mini-brioche bun and goat cheese and leek tart with red onion chutney. To finish, a selection of lemon meringue choux, pistachio and raspberry roly-poly, caramelia chocolate delice and cherry and berry jubilee pastries complete an afternoon of pure indulgence.
In addition, InterContinental’s Tea Sommelier recommends a choice of four teas to enhance the flavours. These includes; a blend of traditional afternoon tea, premium milk Oolong, Darjeeling 2nd flush and Staunton Early Grey.
Recommended cocktails such as Queen Victoria’s Tipple, Bees Knees and Pink XXI, as well as a variety of Laurent-Perrier champagnes will simply enhance the experience even further.
