The Drury Tea & Coffee Company, London-based tea blender and coffee roaster with 80 years’ experience of buying and blending fine teas, has added to its portfolio of pyramid teabags with the addition of London Breakfast Blend. This means that the range now includes four very different breakfast teas and brings the total pyramid range to 31 different teas and infusions.
A QUARTET OF BREAKFAST PYRAMIDS
London Breakfast Blend – the latest addition to the range is a tea that packs a real punch. It is a strong liquoring tea, blended with high quality teas from Assam, Kenya, Rwanda and Sri Lanka. It is quick brewing and therefore a good choice for takeaway service and it will appeal to those that like their tea strong with bags of taste.
British Breakfast Blend – this is the classic breakfast tea, with a rich flavour, full body and deep clear colour. It is a blend of the finest Assam, Kenya, Nilgiri and Sri Lankan teas. Satisfying and full of taste, it is a tea in the finest British tradition.
Breakfast B.O.P. – This leafy breakfast tea is a light and delicate all-day breakfast tea. With teas from Kenya, Assam and Nilgiri, it is bright liquoring with exceptional flavour and strength. The larger leaf allows the full flavour and character of the tea to shine through.
Decaffeinated Breakfast – A large leaf 100% Sri Lankan breakfast tea of medium strength. Drury tea tasters have selected it as it maintains its delicate taste characteristics despite the removal of almost all the caffeine.
THE IMPORTANCE OF THE PYRAMID BAG
The pyramid shape of the teabags is crucial, since it allows the tea to brew more efficiently and permits the use of larger leaf teas. This, in turn, gives the Drury blenders the scope to use a wider variety of fine teas to create this special breakfast range. The teabag material itself is fully biodegradable.
The newcomers join an eclectic range of black teas, green teas, tisanes and infusions that already make up the extensive Drury pyramid range of speciality teabags. The breakfast range is packed in cartons of 100. List prices are £14 per carton for the regular teas and £20.40 for the decaffeinated.
