New General Manager takes the reins at Edinburgh Hotel

CAIRN Group-owned DoubleTree by Hilton Edinburgh – Queensferry Crossing has welcomed experienced hotelier Gavin Tannock as its new general manager.
A native Scot hailing from Glasgow, Gavin will manage the day to-day running of the 147-bedroom property which proudly overlooks the River Forth.
Gavin’s passion for travel is clear as he’s keen to boost tourism and attract even more people on discovery trips to experience the heritage of the three crossings – the Forth Bridge, the Forth Road Bridge and the Queensferry Crossing.
Bringing over 30 years’ experience to the role, Gavin found his passion for the industry while studying hospitality management at Glasgow College, before starting his career in Scottish hotels in popular tourist spot Loch Lomond. He has worked all around the country from city to countryside, and most recently led the teams at two city centre hotels in Aberdeen.
Gavin said: “I’m grateful for the opportunity to join such a reputable group. I feel incredibly lucky to work in such a stunning environment, from the hotel itself to what’s right on our doorstep with the River Forth and its iconic bridges – it’s all about the view!
“We currently welcome a variety of visitors, some who live close by and others who have travelled from further afield to explore the nearby attractions and the capital city. I understand the importance of boosting tourism here in the area and fully support ongoing campaigns. As part of my new role, I’m keen to grow tourism attracting new guests to our venue from far and wide.”
Commenting on Gavin’s appointment, Cairn Group’s HR director Richard Adams added: “Gavin’s experience speaks for itself having worked in various senior positions in reputable hotels throughout Scotland. His passion and enthusiasm are very apparent and we’re thrilled to welcome him to Cairn Group.”
