Following its successful delivery-only launch, premium, fast-casual Mediterranean pizza restaurant, Gallio, will open its first full-service permanent site  in Canary Wharf on Monday 6th December.

From DOMA Hospitality, part of the group that includes The Stafford London, its Game Bird restaurant, Sicilian restaurant Norma London, and Michelin-starred Northcote in Lancashire, Gallio will be located in The Atrium Kitchen on Upper Level 2 of Cabot Place.

The 3,000 square ft site, designed by Harrison, will accommodate up to 96 covers and trade seven days a week from 11am – 10:30pm for lunch and dinner. From 3rd January 2022, Gallio will add breakfast to its menu, and open from 8am.

The menu is inspired by the natural and nutritious Mediterranean diet and showcases a passion for fresh and natural cooking.

At the heart of the menu is artisanal pizza. The  brand’s signature base, freshly prepared daily, is made from a unique blend of nutritious grains mixed with nothing but yeast, extra virgin olive oil, sea salt and filtered water before being hand-crafted to make Gallio’s thin and crispy bases.

Toppings, ranging from light to flavour intense, reflect the richness and variety of cuisines found in the Mediterranean. Combinations include marinated artichoke hearts with sun-dried tomatoes, kalamata olives and mozzarella; spiced lamb with labneh, rose harissa, guindilla peppers and fresh mint; and aubergine with house pickles, signature red sauce with fire-roasted piquillo peppers, za’atar and wild rocket.

The menu also features a range of small plates, signature Mediterranean bowls, flatbreads, vibrant salads and desserts. Pizzas start from £7.80 and small or large salads from £6.90 and £9.50 respectively, with desserts from £3.50. A wide range of vegan and gluten-free dishes are also available.

The drinks menu offers signature and classic cocktails and spritzes, alongside a concise list of wines and beers, and non-alcoholic options including mocktails, juices, smoothies and specialty teas and Union coffee.

The interiors are distinctly Mediterranean in style and echo the brand’s philosophy of bountifulness and social eating. Expect fired terracotta and handcut glazed tiles, brass tables, a plethora of hanging baskets and an olive tree. The counter has been designed to showcase Gallio’s vibrant fresh salads and the pizza-making by trained pizza chefs.

Gallio Canary Wharf will also offer click and collect, pay by table app and delivery via Deliveroo within a 1.5-mile radius of the restaurant.

James Porter, Managing Director, Gallio said: “Gallio aims to offer guests an escape to the Mediterranean with every visit. Diners are looking for healthier choices, better ingredients, fast service and great value, we deliver that guilt-free meal – lighter, cleaner and more sustainable – without compromising. We offer exciting and diverse flavoured dishes alongside freshly prepared pizza to ensure all-day appeal. We are excited for the brand’s future.”
