The Tides Restaurant Editor’s Review
The Tides restaurant is owned by Husband and Wife duo, Guy and Tammie Beasley. Guy was classically French trained by the Roux brother’s owners of a three star Michelin restaurant before going on to create an impressive resume before The Tides, his creativity and skills with dishes are sensational. Tammie is just as talented, the atmosphere created at Tides with her attention to detail is delightful, with stunning warm décor and an onsite art gallery.
On arrival to the restaurant there’s a reception where you find an extremely warm welcome. The restaurant from the very start was perfectly set out and inviting.
Tides is made up of several areas, all with stunning views over the Caribbean waters and all stylish, cosy and charming.
The staff are some of the best you could find, they are passionate, with faultless attentiveness and an impressive eagerness to please without being obtrusive.
The menu is enticing, specialising in seafood also with a few tasty of meat dishes. The Tides Seafood Tower starter is impressive, a selection of Poached Lobster, King Crab Leg, Mussels, Smoked Salmon, Jumbo Shrimp, & Fresh Colchester Oysters served with three Dipping Sauces, a delectable dish that is succulent and tasty. With mains consisting of meat cooked to perfection and fresh seafood all perfectly fused with exciting sides. Desserts are often an after thought but certainly not for Guy Beasley. With desserts from Decadent Peanut Butter Mousse to Homemade Creamy Salted Caramel Cheesecake, there’s something to delight every palate. The food is presented beautifully, looking as good as it tastes.
There’s no rush to leave the restaurant, with a cosy, spacious cocktail lounge and bar as well as a comfortable outside seating area the scene is perfect for finishing the evening with a drink.
Guy Beasley again goes above and beyond, wherever possible coming out to personally say farewell to his diners. It would be hard to leave The Tides Restaurant without feeling like you had visited one of the best restaurants in Barbados, a faultless evening that makes it clear why The Tides is so popular and why so many return time and time again.
